Guide

Install once. Learn one loop.

Usually under 15 minutes if WordPress is already running. You do not need Stripe, DOI, or ORCID to start.

Install

  1. Get the zip. Download from GitHub.
  2. Upload and activate. WordPress → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin → Activate Wisdom Journal Manager.
  3. Import demo. Open Journals → Home. Click Import demo. Now Inbox has sample papers so you can practice.
  4. Share submit. Copy the public submit link. Send it to authors. They never need a WordPress login.

Requires WordPress 5.0+ · PHP 7.4+ · GPL-2.0-or-later

Example day

Tuesday morning

Editor opens Inbox

Two new papers. Claim the nursing ethics manuscript. Invite Dr. Rao to review (email link, no login first). Yesterday's paper is ready: Accept → Publish. Done before coffee cools. No email threads about "which PDF was final."

Day-one loop

  1. Open Inbox and claim a paper.
  2. Assign a reviewer (invite link).
  3. Accept, ask for revision, or reject. Send a decision letter.
  4. Publish when ready.

Money, DOI, Stripe, and DOAJ are add-ons under Advanced. Skip them on day one. Why the path stays short →

Optional later

Your vendor keys. Not a WJM license.

  • Stripe APC. Your Stripe keys, or mark paid by hand.
  • DOI. Crossref / DataCite, or local strings only.
  • ORCID. Free Public API for lookup / connect.
  • DOAJ. Checklist in WJM; you still apply on doaj.org.

FAQ

No. Public ORCID is lookup / connect. Reviewers add credit themselves if they want.
Will integrity flags auto-reject?
Never. Soft flags only. You decide.

Based on research

WJM started as a research paper about how a journal system can run on WordPress. The plugin you install follows that design.
